I’d like to express my gratitude for the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Character Matters Indonesia over the past 6 months.

It was a brand new experience for me to be appointed to lead the Communications team. To be brutally honest, I was a bit intimidated by the role at first as I never had an experience volunteering in Indonesia, let alone leading the people. But I'm glad that I took the challenge; resulting in no regret at all. In fact, I gained a lot from this experience.

Although growth has to come from each individual, it also has to be supported by the surrounding elements. Testifying as an ex-member of CMI, a strong willingness to learn is all it takes.

This organisation is notably a great “soil” for people to grow. Being the organisation that pushes character development, the leaders (or at least myself) are automatically pressured with the organisation’s mission. And therefore, most of the people inside are very open-minded with great characters. The culture’s amazing, we listen to one another and there’s freedom to express our thoughts or feelings without being judged while contributing to the great cause that we support.

Not only that, I am also honored to take part in constructing events and activities that bring impact to the large. There was a quote that says “the quality of a nation depends on the quality of the people”. I believe, one of many ways to improve people’s quality is through character education. And this is where we tapped in, through webinars, campaigns, content, and activities, we’d like to bring changes to make a better Indonesia.

All in all, I am utterly thankful for the given opportunity to be part of the change and meeting these amazing people along the journey. I’ve gained knowledge, friends, and most importantly : unforgettable experience.

Thank you Character Matters Indonesia!
